State Attorney Steve Meadows announces the conviction and sentence, in Bay
County Circuit Court, of Joe Wayne Marshall on a charge of attempted lewd or
lascivious conduct.
Circuit Court Judge Dedee S. Costello sentenced Marshall to three years
prison, consecutive to the two and one-half year, violation of probation
sentence he was already serving. Florida law requires that a defendant serve
at least 85 per cent of his sentence.
The five males, one female jury deliberated less than 10 minutes before
finding Marshall guilty in connection with a September 19, 2006, incident.
Marshall was babysitting an eight-year old girl and her brother. The boy
reported that Marshall had unzipped and pulled down the girl’s pants.
