Teen convicted of Battery on Dozier School Staff
State Attorney Steve Meadows announces the conviction, in Jackson County
Circuit Court, of Justin Daniel Caldwell, on a charge of Battery on
Detention or Commitment Facility Staff.
A 3 males, 3 females jury deliberated about 45 minutes before finding
Caldwell, WM, DOB: 2-5-1989, of 23175 Lincoln Street, Robertsdale, Alabama,
guilty of the February 11, 2007, offense. Assistant State Attorney Jonna
Bowman presented evidence that Caldwell elbowed, head-butted, and kicked a
Department of Juvenile Justice employee while at Dozier School in Marianna.
Several staff members had to assist the battered officer from the floor.
Sentencing is set for November 27, 2007. Caldwell faces a maximum of five
years in prison.
