State Attorney Steve Meadows announces the conviction, in Bay County Circuit Court, of Lonnie Ramey, on a charge of Trafficking in Cocaine.

A three males, three females jury deliberated about 37 minutes before finding Ramey, DOB 9-28-68, of 1507 Pennsylvania Avenue, Lynn Haven, guilty of the February 17, 2006, crime. Ramey was also convicted of Possession of Cannabis, less than 20 grams.

Trafficking in Cocaine is a first degree felony, punishable by up to 30 years in prison. Assistant State Attorney Maria Dykes is seeking Habitual Offender sanctions based upon Ramey’s criminal history. The Habitual Offender finding would subject Ramey to a sentence of up to life in prison.

Sentencing is set for August 14, 2007.
