April 17, 2007 Drug dealer sentenced to 25 years State Attorney Steve Meadows announces the sentencing, in Gulf County Circuit Court, of Michael Dunn to 25 years in prison for sale of a controlled substance. Circuit Court Judge Hentz McClellan found Dunn, 50, of Port St. Joe, to be a habitual felony offender and imposed the sentence which is greater than the statutory maximum of 15 years. A habitual offender has two or more prior convictions, the current conviction within five years of the release from prison, probation, or parole of the most recent prior. The court may sentence a habitual offender to twice the statutory maximum. Dunn was convicted by a Gulf County jury on March 8, 2007, for a March 14, 2006, sale. |
