State Attorney Steve Meadows announces the conviction, in Bay County Circuit
Court, of Protonaus George, on charges of Robbery and Battery on a Person 65
or over.
The all female jury deliberated 36 minutes before convicting George, 27, in
the May 2, 2006, incident.
Assistant State Attorney Shalla Phelps presented evidence that George
entered Mary’s Designer Hats and Apparel, pushed the victim into a bathroom
and choked and battered her. She pretended to be dead and George left with a
money bag containing $350.00.
Sentencing is set for April 13. George faces up to 20 years in prison.
