Man sentenced to 40 years prison for Robbery and Battery on a Person 65 or over; Man sentenced to 15 years for Possession of Cocaine; Man sentenced to five years for Sale of Cocaine

State Attorney Steve Meadows announces the sentencing of Protronaus George Anthony, in Bay County Circuit Court, to 40 years in prison for Robbery and Battery on a Person 65 or over. Anthony, 27, a transient, had been convicted, at trial, on April 5, 2007, of robbing an battering the owner of a Panama City apparel store. He struck and choked the victim, and left her for dead, taking $350.00 in a money bag.

Circuit Court Judge Don T. Sirmons found Anthony to be a habitual felony offender and sentenced him, in accord with Florida law, to double the statutory maximum. He must serve at least 85 per cent of his sentence.

Sirmons also sentenced Cedric Doles, 34, of Bay County, to 15 years prison for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell or Deliver. Doles was convicted by a jury on May 10, 2007. He had three previous convictions for the same offense. The sentence imposed was the statutory maximum.

In Calhoun County, Circuit Court Judge Hentz McClellan sentenced Justin M. Black, 21, of Blountstown, to five years prison, followed by five years probation, for June 6, 2006 Sale of Cocaine to an undercover operative. He was convicted, at trial, on April 24, 2007.
