April 11, 2007 Bailey Sentenced to Death for murder of Kevin Kight
Circuit Court Judge Michael Overstreet sentenced Robert Bailey to death for
the Easter Sunday, 2005, murder of Panama City Beach Police Department
Sergeant Kevin Kight. A Bay County jury had earlier recommended, by a vote
of 11-1, that Bailey die for his crime.
“Judge Overstreet did a wonderful job and presented a remarkably clear
sentencing order,” said State Attorney Steve Meadows. “He fully considered
all evidence presented, all aggravation and mitigation, and handed down the
sentence that the community demanded.” |
