June 20, 2008 Blountstown man convicted of child molestation; will spend life in prison State Attorney Steve Meadows announces the conviction, in Calhoun County Circuit Court, of Sam Alford, on five counts of Sexual Battery on a Child less than 12 years of age, and two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. The jury deliberated just two hours before finding Alford, WM, DOB: 9-21-1966, NE State Road 69, Blountstown, guilty of the molestation of two sisters over a 10-years span. Five of the sexual battery counts and one of the Lewd or Lascivious counts were committed when the girls were less than 12 years of age. One L or L count was committed when the victim of 13. Sentencing is set for July 30, 2008. The sexual battery counts carry a mandatory sentence of life in prison. Alford has no prior felony record. |
