Caryville man gets 30 years in prison for drug trafficking
State Attorney Steve Meadows announces the conviction and sentence, in
Washington County Circuit Court, of Sam Henry Griffin on a charge of
Trafficking in Cannabis.
After a full day of trial, the jury deliberated about 24 minutes on Tuesday
evening before finding that Griffin, WM,
DOB: 9-25-1946, of Caryville, Florida, possessed in excess of 25 pounds of
cannabis.
Circuit Court Judge Allen Register imposed sentence on Griffin right after
the verdict was returned. Griffin was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with
a minimum mandatory three years, and a total of $26,243.00 in fines and
costs. Florida law requires that an inmate serve at least 85 per cent of his
sentence.
