New Jersey Accident Laws
Under Title 59 of the New Jersey Statutes, an accident victim cannot sue a city, township or other entity unless suffering a permanently disabling injury.
The key question under New Jersey accident litigation is whether a property owner (a) knew of the hazardous condition or (b) should have known of the danger through routine maintenance and inspection. If the owner failed to fix a problem after receiving notice, or created a safety issue through negligence, they can be liable for medical expenses, lost wages and personal damages.
